The
Barceló Foundation is holding, from November 28, 2000 till January 5, 2001, the exhibition "Aquarel·les del Geňleg
Guillem Colom i Casasnovas (1900 - 1993)". The geologist Guillem Colom Casasnovas (Sóller, 1900 - 1993) was a great
fan of drawing, illustrating an extensive bibliography about topics of his speciality. Thanks to a Californian painter called
Macherferd who used to live in Soller, he investigated deeply into the watercolour techniques. As from 1946 he began to
participate in different collective exhibitions.
In the exhibition catalogue, Jaume Ensenyat i Juliŕ writes:: "Art reflects the artist and the watercolours by Guillem Colom are
simple, fresh, luminous, Mediterranean. They reflect our light." Foto © RSR: "Retrato de Guillem Colom" de Federico Molina
