The
Auditorium in Palma
will hold from April 12 to 15 the representation of the play "Pulcinella"
by the Neapolitan company Gli Ipocriti. The production, directed by Maurizzio
Scaparro and starring Massimo Raineri, is to be performed in Italian and
is part of the
Festival Teatres
del Món, promoted by the
Ministry
of Tourism of the Balearic Government, together with the
Mallorcan
Insular Council.
The text of the play, by Manlio Santanelli, is based on an unpublished
film script by Roberto Rossellini, about the trip, dramatic and comic at
the same time, that some Italian actors of the XVII century make from Naples
to Rome and Paris.
The Gli Ipocriti company presented "Pulcinella" at the
Festival
Grec de Barcelona 2000, with great success from the public and the
critics, who described it as a tribute to the first trips made by Italian
comedians and a metaphor on the condition as an actor.
