During October
the Palma Cathedral is holding the second edition
of the "Festival d'Orgue a la Seu", with the participation of four internationally
renown organists. The programme started on Sunday with the performance
by the Italian organist Luca Salvadori and the next concert, by the German
Karl Maureen, will be on Sunday 14. On Sunday 21 the Austrian Martin HaselBöck
will perform and the Mallorcan Bartomeu Veny will close the cycle on Sunday
28. The concerts are free and start at 7.45 p.m.
On the other hand, on Saturday the "XXV Setmana dels orgues històrics
de Mallorca" started at the sa Pobla church with a concert by Arnau Reynés.
This other cycle dedicated to the organ, which will continue until October
13, includes 7 concerts that will take place at different churches of the
Island: on Monday in Binissalem, on Tuesday at the Socorro church in Palma,
on Wednesday at the Sant Nicolau church in Palma, on Thursday in Porreres,
on Friday at the Monestir de Sant Jeroni in Palma and on Saturday, at Santanyí.
The artists that will take part in this show, including Arnau Reynés,
are Elmar Jahn, Heribert Breuer, Bartomeu Veny and Capella Mallorquina,
Inmaculada Ferro, Adalberto Martínez and Hans-Dietter Möller.
The concerts start at 8 p.m. and they are also free.
Finally, next October 20, the "VIII Simpòsium i Jornades Internacionals
de l'Orgue Històric de les Balears" and the "VIII Trobada de Documentalistes
Musicals" will begin, with a complete programme of activities related to
