What's on for Carnival?
The Carnival fiestas begin today (Dijous Llarder), and will continue until Wednesday (Dimecres de Cendra)  with street parades (known as Rues o Ruetes) and fancy-dress parties all over the island.

Thursday, February 7
11:30 h, Rueta in Cas Concos (Felanitx) with the group Spaguetti.
17:00 h, children's entertainment and Rueta in Manacor with the groups Cucorba, Xanquers de dalt de tot and Spaguetti.
19:30 h, traditional dance for "Dijous Llarder" at Ses Escoles in Llucmajor, with Xeremiers de Sa Marina and Capocorb.
21:00 h, arrival of the Camestortes comical character in Algaida.

Friday, February 8
12:00 h, Rueta in Sa Coma (Sant Llorenç) with children's entertainment by Spaghetti.
15:00 h, Rueta d'Andratx, with the group Cucavela.
15:30 h, Rueta de Sóller.

Saturday, February 9
16:00 h, Rua in Calvià
17:00 h, XIII Rua d'Algaida i Festa d'en Camestortes 2002.
18:00 h, Rueta in Son Carrió (Sant Llorenç) with the group Spaghetti.
20:00 h, Rua and dance in Manacor.
21:00 h, Fancy Dress Ball with music by Luna 70 at the church square in Galilea (Puigpunyent).
00:00 h, Fancy Dress Party with music by No Children, at the Pub Odeon in Llucmajor.

Sunday, February 10
15:30 h, Alternative Carnival in Palma (c/ Miquel dels Sants Oliver), organised by Oikumene and Tambors per la pau.
17:00 h, Rua in Palma. Itinerary: ps. Mallorca, av. Jaume III, pl. La Reina, pl. Joan Carles I, av. Jaume III and ps. Mallorca.
17:00 h, Rueta in Petra with the group Spaghetti.

Monday, February 11
17:00 h, children's entertainment with the group Cucorba at the square in Port de Pollença.

Tuesday, February 12
16:00 h, Rueta in Pollença with the group Spaghetti.
