Paintings by Carlos Mensa at Sa Nostra

Paintings by Carlos Mensa at Sa Nostra
The exhibition "Els anys de l'esplendor" by Carlos Mensa (Barcelona, 1936-1982), commissioned by the daughter of the artist, Patricia Mensa, can be visited until September 12 at the Sa Nostra Cultural Centre in Palma.

The works by Mensa, self-taught painter, are related to Max Ernst's ' surrealism and the metaphysic paintings by Giorgio De Chirico. The ironic language of the artist was often not appreciated by the people from his time and it was on Mallorca where his work was presented, thanks to Josep Piña from the Pelaires art gallery.

The exhibition that can now be seen in Palma groups 65 works from private collections in Italy, Barcelona and Mallorca, created by the artist from 1969 to his death in 1982.

More over, the Sa Nostra Cultural Centre in Palma also presents until August 31 the exhibition "Viajo para conocer mi geografía" by Mateo Maté.
