100 years of tourism on Mallorca

Centenary of the Mallorca Tourist Board.

The Mallorca Tourist Board has organised several cultural and sport activities to commemorate its centenary. Amongst other activities, the programme includes a concert by the National Spanish Radio & Television Network (RTVE) Symphony Orchestra and Choir on July 30th in the Cathedral of Palma. It is also worth stressing the exhibition that will open on August 19th in the Sa Llonja of Palma, including the painting collection of the Board, as well as printed and audiovisual material published by the organisation during these hundred years. Another outstanding activity of the programme is the Mallorca Surf Action 2005. This is a mixture Exhibition Board Sports (windsurf, kitesurf, wakeboard, wakeskate, skateboard, BMX, snakeboard and vert - rollerblading), padel and music.

According to a report published by Esteve Bardolet, economist and member of the Mallorca Tourist Board, from 1905 to 2005, approximately 180 million tourists have visited Mallorca. Amongst these, 62 million are British, 59 million are German and 22 million are Spanish.
