Cycling: Tour of Mallorca

Participation of some 300 cyclists in 20 teams.

The XV Challenge Illes Balears - Volta a Mallorca will once more start the European professional cycling calendar. The Mallorcan race will be held between February 5 and 9 and will have the participation of some 300 cyclists competing in 20 teams, including the Illes Balears - Caisse d'Epargne.

The Challenge 2006 will begin on Sunday, February 5, with an urban circuit on the Passeig Marítim in Palma.

The second day, Monday 6, will start in Cala Millor and will end in Cala Bona, passing by Son Servera, Capdepera, Artà, Sant Llorenç, Manacor, Felanitx, Campos, Llucmajor, Campos, Felanitx, Porto Cristo, Son Carrió and Son Servera.

On Tuesday the racers will leave Pollença and reach at Mirador des Colomer (Port de Pollença) going through Sa Pobla, Santa Margalida, Llubí, Inca, Binissalem, Consell, Santa Maria, Bunyola, Coll de Soller, Coll de Puig Major and Lluc.

On Wednesday the race will start in Sóller and will end in Port de Sóller passing via Coll de Sóller, Santa Maria, Consell, Binissalem, Lloseta, Biniamar, Selva, Caimari, Coll de sa Batalla, Lluc, Pollença, Inca, Selva, Caimari, Coll de sa Batalla, Coll de Puig Major and Sóller.

The last stage, on Thursday 9, will start in Magaluf and will end in Palmanova, going via Es Capdella, Andratx, Coll de sa Gramola, Estellencs, Banyalbufar, Coll de Claret, Deià, Sóller, Coll de Sóller, s'Esglaieta, Valldemossa, Coll de Claret, Esporles, Establiments, Coll d'es Tords and Calvià.
