The North American ethnomusicologist visited Mallorca in 1952.

The Paper Hall of the Sa Nostra Cultural Centre in Palma is housing until July 9th an exhibition dedicated to Alan Lomax. The exhibition, commissioned by Antoni Pizà, groups a selection of the pictures that the North American ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax (1915-2002) took in 1952 when hi traveled to Mallorca, Eivissa and Formentera.

The exhibition, that has also been presented in Formentera and in Eivissa, is complemented by music and songs recorded by Lomax during his stay in the Balearic Islands and by a special report produced by Televisió de Catalunya.

More over, until July 7th, another hall of the same cultural centre is housing the exhibition "Album. Family images in art" with works by Amparo Sard, Miquel Barceló, Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies and Pablo Gargallo.
