Catalan Book Week
From February 26 to March 7 in the patio of la Misericordia.
The patio of la Misericordia of Palma will host from February 26 to March 7 the 21st "Setmana Català del Llibre en Català" organized by the Gremi de Llibreters de Mallorca with the sponsorship of the Directorate of Language Policy of the Insular Council of Mallorca and the Directorate General for Language Policy of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
Lluna, Quart Creixent, Llibres Mallorca, Llibres Colom, Jaume de Montsó, Literanta, Embat Llibres and Fiol Llibres are the bookshops that are participating in the week by selling 60,000 books.
Book presentations, storytelling and lectures are some of the activities that comprise the program of the "Setmana del Llibre en Català" this year. The inauguration of the Week will be held on Friday 26 at 18 p.m., with the traditional opening speech by the poet Jaume C. Pons Alorda (Premi Ciutat de Palma Joan Alcover 2008).
