Plessi Llaüt Light

Plessi Llaüt Light

Installation by Fabrizio Plessi in la Llotja in Palma.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the recently restored building of la Llotja in Palma, Venetian artist Fabrizio Plessi will present the exhibition "Plessi Llaüt Light" at this Gothic monument by Guillem Sagrera from the 15th century.

Fabrizio Plessi's exhibition consists of 14 traditional boats from Mallorca, handcrafted in wood, called "llaüts", that were abandoned in different places on the island and that have been recovered and restored by the artist with the support of Louis Vuitton. The "llaüts" are turned upside down and their interiors contain blue neon lights and 14 individual sound players that reproduce the sound of the sea, at the same time that we listen to Michael Nymann's music. With this sound, Plessi underlines the passion for sea and sailing that has always been part of Louis Vuitton's values, as part of the Art of Travel that is synonymous with the House since its creation in 1854.

The exhibition will remain open until November 2nd and it can be visited every day except Mondays from 5 p.m. to midnight. As from September 22nd the visiting times will become Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
