The wine making tradition of Santa Maria del Camí was already recognised in the Middle Ages, ancient toponyms evoke it, as does the ornamentation of the main entrance to the Parish Church (XVIII century). To commemorate this wine making tradition and promote the seven wine cellars of the town, the last weekend of November, this municipality of the Raiguer area celebrates annually its New Wine Festivity and Wine Cellar Route.

The festivity begins on the Saturday, around 8.30 pm., in the square of the village, with the arrival of the cart that brings the pine branches. Following the tradition, the branches are given to the cellars that hang them on their main entrances to announce the beginning of the new wine sale. The Saturday programme continues with the official proclamation, the "sonada del vi novell", the tasting of new wine, the popular barbecue and the tasting contest, all this accompanied by Mallorcan traditional music.

The festive activities carry on the day after, Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the Wine Cellar Route which includes visiting Celler Es Cabàs, Celler Sebastià Pastor, Bodegues Can Rubí, Celler Jaume de Puntiró, Bodegues Macià Batle, Bodegues Ramanyà and Bodegas Angel. The visit to the cellars is complemented by the weekly market that is held every Sunday in the Plaça Nova of Santa Maria.
