Can Mayol, an old fortified property built in 1606, is the main building of the Railway Station in Soller. The station, that also has other buildings for the garages and workshops, is the link for the two railway lines in Soller, the Soller train, which has linked Soller and Palma since 1912, and the Soller Tram, that has communicated Soller with the Port of Soller since 1913.

Since its recent renovation, the Soller station has adapted two exhibition rooms on the ground floor and at present they house two important exhibitions by Miró and Picasso. In the Picasso room there are 50 ceramics carried out between 1948 and 1971 by Pablo Ruiz Picasso (Málaga, 1881 - Mougins, France, 1973). The works belong to the private collection of the editor Pere A. Serra (Sóller, 1928) who has ceded them for ten years. Pere A. Serra, illustrious son of Soller, worked for the Soller Railway company between 1944 and 1948.

Meanwhile, in the Miró room there are two series of etchings by Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma, 1983). These are 14 etchings of the Lapidary series (1981), which refer directly to the properties of stone, and 21 etchings of the Gaudi series (1979), that Miró made to pay tribute to the architect Antoni Gaudí (Reus, 1852 - Barcelona, 1926). Joan Rubió (Reus 1870 - Barcelona, 1952), a Gaudi pupil, designed the Bank of Soller building and the parish church of Sant Bartomeu. All the etchings have been ceded by Miró's heirs, initially for a year, in memory of the artist's maternal grandfather who was born in Soller. The cession also includes a large tapestry by Miró, which presides the central staircase of the station.
