Son Marroig, in the municipality of Deià, holds the "Arxiduc Lluís Salvador" museum.

Son Marroig, like its neighbouring property, Miramar, in the municipality of Valldemossa, is one of the properties that Archduke Ludwig Salvatore of Austria (1847-1915) bought, after falling in love with the scenery of the North coast of Mallorca.

The author of the work Die Balearen, reformed the old house, preserving the fortified tower of the XVI century, and carrying out Italian style extensions. He also built at one end of the garden the small neoclassic temple in marble from Carrara, that overlooks the Sa Foradada point, and on very clear days, the island of Sa Dragonera can be seen.

On the death of the Archduke, the property passed into the hands of his secretary, the Mallorcan, Antoni Vives, and in 1928 the present museum was installed in it, exhibiting objects and mementoes of Ludwig Salvatore, a collection of ceramics and Mallorcan paintings of the XIX century.

Son Marroig has been holding every year, since 1978, the Deià International Festival dedicated to chamber music.

The property can be visited from Monday to Saturday for 3 euros. Permission can also be obtained to walk the path of approximately 3.5 km that leads to Sa Foradada. Finally, next to the house, there is a small restaurant with spectacular views over Sa Foradada.
