Yesterday in Porreras the events for the "Fira 2001" fair started with
the first conference of the cycle given by the neuropsychologist from Porreres,
Agnès Oliver i Mora.
The programme of the Fair includes a wide range of activities that will
last until the beginning of December. Conferences, exhibitions, sports
competitions, games, exursions, concerts, dances and plays are some of
the festive proposals.
The day before the Fair, on Saturday October 27, at 6 p.m. the "VII
Mostra de productes porrerencs" will open, organised by the firms and carpinters
of Porreres, and will present two publications: the commercial guide
"Que hi puc trobar a Porreres?" (what can I find in Porreres?) and the
new
web page of Porreres. The day
will close with a folkdancing festival with S'Estol Porrerenc, Aires Vilafranquins,
Aires d'Andratx and Esclafits i castanyetes d'Artà.
The Fair on Sunday, October 28, will hold a farm animal exhibition with
sheep and other kinds of animals brought by the farmowners of the town,
an exhibition of building materials, the "I Fira Jove Educativa" and the
"III Horse Show" In the fair they will also celebrate the XIII Dog Show,
horse training demonstrations and a chess contest. The Orquestra Jazz‘tà
Bigband,
Cucorba and
Pla
Forana will complete the activities during the day and the show
"L'Ombra" by the company
Toni Albà
will be the final point of Sunday's programme. This show, by Toni Albà
can also be seen on Monday 29, the day of the "Firó".
The fair programme continues until December 2, with conferences, concerts,
the "VIII jornades de teatre", a musical course "Profundització
en la música" and other cultural and sports activities.
