Llucmajor: autumn fairs

Llucmajor has been celebrating since September 28 the "Fires 2001". This cycle of autumn fairs, that has been held in this town since 1546, includes a complete programme of cultural and sports activities that will continue until October 20.

The first, second and third fairs have already taken place, and next Sunday there will be the "Darrera Fira" (last fair), the most important of all. This day the assistants will be able to visit a wide exhibition of motorbikes and old cars, agricultural and industrial machinery and all kind of animals, as well as the art exhibitions organised within the fair programme and the show "XXII Mostra Llucmajorera".

On Monday, October 15, the "Firó" will be held, including amongst other activities horse races as from 3 p.m. and a concert by Tomeu Estaràs and Genia Tobin at the Teatre Recreatiu, at 8 p.m.

The activities will finish on Saturday, October 20, with the youth day "IV Diada Juvenil Llucmajove 2001", including exhibitions and workshops , dances and the concert Llucmarock by local bands and Amb una Mica de Sort.
