Somràdio, the FM broadcast
by the
Grupo Serra subsidied by
the
Govern de les Illes Balears, and
Ràdio
Calvià, FM broadcast by the
Ayuntamiento
de Calvià, are set on reading textual blocks in their news programmes
of news published on
BalearWeb.
According to declarations by Ramon Sellas, lawyer and director of BalearWeb,
"some readers of the electronic publications we edit have notified us that
different radio broadcasts on the island of Mallorca are reading textually
the news that we publish. Last week we started to check these statements,
end exactly, Somràdio has read for an undetermined time, textually
in its news programmes the news published on Internet by our organisation
without making any reference to the source of the information. On
contacting the managers of the broadcast to denounce the facts, they assured
us, on checking the truth of our complaint, that this would not happen
again. This week we have detected that Radiò Calvia is doing
exactly the same as Somràdio, reading textually the news published
without making any reference to the source. On contacting the Calvià
Town Council, to denounce the facts, we have not obtained any reply. The
managers and personnel of these broadcasts should remember that the intellectual
property rights are protected not only by National and European Laws but
also by the
Universal
Declaration of Human Rights that textually in the article 27.2 says
"Everyone has the right to the protection of the moral and material interests
resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which
he is the author."
