"Diada de Mallorca", September 12

The Consell de Mallorca has organised for the seventh time the Diada de Mallorca to commemorate the 727th anniversary of the Oath by king Jaume II "Franqueses i privilegis del Regne de Mallorca" (Franchise and privileges of the Kingdom of Mallorca).

The wide programme of events for the Diada will start this Friday with the start at the Cala Gamba club nautico of the "VII Trofeu Diada de Mallorca de Vela Llatina" and will last until September 20 with a whole series of sporting, entertainment and educational events that will be held all over the island.

The institutional act on September 12, that will be held in the patio of the Misericordia in Palma at 8.30 p.m. will be marked by a tribute to Francesc de Borja Moll. The philologist will receive a posthumous declaration of Adopted Son of the island.
