Demo: Those who love Mallorca don't destroy it
On Saturday, February 14, at 6 p.m. the demo in defence of the territory and environment "Qui estima Mallorca no la destrueix" will start in the Plaza España in Palma. According to the organisers, the movement answers the need to confront the steps being carried out, such as the extension to the Son Sant Joan airport, the construction of new motorways (Inca - Manacor, Inca - Sa Pobla, the 2nd Cinturón de Palma, S'Arenal-Llucmajor, Llucmajor bypass, Palmanova- Peguera, etc.), the cancellation of the natural parks Llevant (Mallorca) and Cala d'Hort (Eivissa), the promotion of new urbanisations on the coast and the construction of new energetic infrastructure (a new power station), for water (4 new desalinisation plants) and residues (more incineration lines).

The demo will have a route from the Plaça d'Espanya to the Plaça Major, going via the streets Oms, La Rambla, Unió, Born, Conqueridor, Cort and Colom. The event has been arranged by the GOB and by the seven following platforms: "Autovia No", Plataforma No al 2n Cinturó, Plataforma Si desdoblament No Autopista Inca - Sa Pobla, Plataforma contra el Parc temàtic d'Inca, Plataforma contra l'ampliació de l'aeroport de Palma, Plataforma contra l'entrada del gasoducte per Es Carnatge, Plataforma d'es Migjorn contra l'autopista.

Because of the Demo, the photographer Miquel Àngel Dora has set up the web "Fotògrafs de natura en defensa de Mallorca" with fifty photographs by different people with the central topic the logo of the demo.
