In September the summer festivities continue

Fiestas all over the island.

The 8th of September it is the day of the "Mare de Déu de Setembre", patron saint of many Mallorcan towns. One of them is Banyalbufar, that celebrates intensely this fiestas, the most important of their festive calendar. Also Fornalutx is having fiestas for the Nativitat de Nostra Senyora, patron saint of the town, as well as Galilea, Lloseta, Son Sordina, Maria de La Salut, Costitx, s'Arracó (PDF)... Palma will also hold a varied programme of events for the Mare de Déu de la Salut (PDF).

Other towns of the island where you will find fiestas these days are Sa Cabaneta, that celebrates the festivity of the Mare de Déu de Marratxí; Cas Concos that is holding the fiestas for Sant Nicolau; Santa Ponça that commemorates the 777 Anniversary of the landing of King Jaime I (PDF); and the Lluc Sanctuari, which is full of activities for La Diada.

More over, worth stressing is the celebration of the Diada de Mallorca (PDF), including events in Palma and Santa Ponça, as well as the Festes de la Beata de Santa Margalida with its traditional procession and the Festa del Meló de Vilafranca (PDF) held this week, and the Fira d'Artà held around the second Sunday of September.
